BYD Qin L DM-i launched at an event in Xian which also saw the unveiling of BYD’s new fifth generation DM system which is used by the car. Also launched at the event was the Seal 06 DM-i which is the twin car of the Qin L and uses the same platform. There are five models in the Qin L range priced from 99,800 to 139,800 yuan (13,750 – 19,300 USD).

The Qin L is part of the Dynasty series of BYD cars and uses the new national wave dragon face aesthetics. As such the car has a Qin character at the front underlined by a chrome bar, and there is a large grille underneath this. Interestingly the Qin L retains traditional door handles. There is a strong waistline which runs from the front fenders to the rear doors.
